Mission accomplished

Well to cut to the chase, we made it, rolling into our villa in Ayia Napa, mid afternoon.

However, it wasn't all plain sailing ...

The ferry arrived into Gurne port around 8.30am, and we thought with the 5 hours it took to load the boat, unloading would be similar.  We hung about for a bit on deck, then ambled down to find the last few vehicles driving off, and some impatient Turk deckhands scowling at us.  A lightening clothes change, and off we rode.

So next step was the arduous sequence of ... queue, covid check... queue, passports ... queue, vehicle stamp .... queue, customs ... queue, paper to get insurance ... queue, get insurance .... queue, customs again .... then a final passport check before leaving port.

Heading out of the port, we aimed for the KTM dealer in Nicosia, to try and get hold of a replacement bolt for Dave's kickstand.

Exiting Turkish controlled Cyprus, was relativly easy compared to entering.  The entry 100 mtrs later was the easiest ever ... just showed a passport and were on our way.

So now in the Greek controlled part of Cyprus, and arriving at MotoRace, we turned our attention to the bike issues.  While at the port, I noticed Thorpy's rear brake pads were about shot, and fortunatly they carried stock.  However with Daves bolt, while they were very helpful, (even offering to take one from a new bike) ... 24 hours later, no bolt, and no return call.

From there Dave abandoned any plans of a scenic route, and just blasted down the motorway, thinking of cold beers and swimming pools.

Arriving Ayia Napa

Courtesy of Dave's brother-in-law, Edward, he had arranged a beautful villa for us to recouperate in and that we will.  Just a shame its only for 4 days.  Some pics of the villa and our arrival .....

And that was it, mission accomplished... just 4 days of rest (which includes writing blogs), and we leave to start to journey back on June 3rd.
