Eagerly awaited our 8am breakfast in the hotel, which was continental style. On our way before 9 as we had a fair bit of ground to cover today. Generally the idea was twisty back roads for the morning, with a 100 mile motorway bash into Frankfurt after lunch.
The mornings roads did not disappoint ....
Despite a filling breakfast, we pulled over just for coffee, but once inside the shop, the temptation was just too great ....
Oh, we have such will power .... NOT !
But talking of temptation, despite assurances, to Thorpy, Dave just had to slide in a sneaky gravel road in, to keep him on his toes ....
... having said that, it was only a couple of km, and quite a level gravel surface. It was never mentioned again !
Lunch was taken (twice) at some Fuel stations, where at the motorway one, we got a mortgage to buy a Coffee and a Snickers. In fact it was 60 pence just for a bloody pee !
Finally we rolled into the Ameda Suites, where we would sweat it out for the night ... by that I mean they announced the a/c wasn't working in the entire hotel. So much for German efficiency !
In a rare moment of punctuality, I'll post this blog on the day we did it.
So we went to a Vietnamese restaurant, and the beer was good and I'm sure the food probably will be. We may get drunk, and and we expect to get to bed before midnight !
