Well apologies for the briefest update but my feet have not touched the ground since leaving the ferry. Good crossing, cramped cabin, excessive beer, about sum it up. Most of the boyz got a good soaking in the way down, and our room in Pamplona looks like a Chinese laundy with the bulk of Neils clothes hanging everywhere.
Despite optomistic weather forecasts, we arrived to light rain in Santander. The boyz opted for waterproofs, while I chose faith.
The first road took us over the mountains through cloud cover eventually stopping for a coffee late in the day.

We then carried on but knowing that at some point we would have to abandon the planned route and hightail it on the motorway to reach Pamplona before dark.
Fun and games were had when we reached an unmanned toll booth, but after a bit of head scratching we worked out how to get thru. Had we been a bit more prepared we could have tried sneaking two bikes thouugh at a time, but failure might have resulted on a barrier crashing down on the slowest off the mark .... maybe next time.
We arrived Pamplona to find our hotel half way down a pedestrianised zone. Neil incurred the wrath of some Spanish lady for being there, but eventually we sorted it. Checked in and put the bikes into an underground car park. First beers at 9.30pm .... not the best of plans, but never mind. We managed to drink and stuff our faces with Tapas until the bar closed on us at midnight.
Anyway, thats it for now, more pics later and today we head for a hotel high in the Pyrnees, where hopefully, the internet has reached !

Good stuff Russ. Sounds like you stayed in the same area of Pamplona as we did a few years back as we had to park the bike underground too. Great city. Enjoy the ride across the Pyrenees!
